Reactivity

Something we help with most often.

No two dogs are the same and we have years of experience working with and helping many dogs overcome their reactivity. Whether your dog barks, lunges or has any unwanted behaviour in any way to people, dogs, sounds or movement (bikes, cars etc) then we want to help.

Dogs react for many different reasons and we want to understand and help change how your dog is feeling for the long term. Reactivity is the result and we want to really understand the root cause of why they are behaving that way. A stressed dog is definitely not a happy one. Our approach and training will help you and your dog work through the issues so that you can start heading to a more fun, positive future together.

Whether it's fear based, under exposure, aggression or barrier frustration, we can work with you and your dog to help make walks enjoyable again, leading to a dog who feels happier and more content about the world around them.

Obedience Training

A trained dog is a happy dog!

Our obedience training covers everything from basic commands to more advanced behaviours like a focused heel. We can help teach you and your dog a range of commands such as:

Sit, down, stay, heel, stand, leave, place, send away, retrieve and more.

We cover marker training, luring and positions, engagement principles, different drives, building motivation, reward and reinforcement, social ignorance, impulse control, introduction to dogs sports and lots more!

We will introduce you to the 3D's of dog training ensuring your dog learns many different commands, positions and fun new things all while working under a range of distractions.

Obedience training is a really great way to build relationship and solid foundations whilst fullfillfing your dog at the same time. It will encourage long lasting results, good behaviour and create great communication between you and your dog, allowing them to live their best life in any and all environments.

Behaviour Modification

aims to address and work through various issues such as genetic predisposition, aggression, high prey drive, seperation anxiety, resource guarding, excessive barking, severe reactivity, reinforced inappropriate behaviours, compulsive based behaviours etc.

Our training techniques are individually tailored to the specific needs of each dog, working on both the root causes and the symptoms of behavioural problems. We can help you and your dog overcome these challenges, creating a more positive, balanced temperament and behaviour that will enhance not only their quality of life but yours too. We are all for understanding owners individual circumstances and we want to help your dog be a pleasant and enjoyable member of your family.

Breed Fullfillment

Understanding your dogs breed and what they were bred for is really important to ensure they live a happy and fulfilled life. Dogs were all originally bred for a purpose and over years of them being our most loyal companion, it's easy to forget what our dog breed means to them. Whether you have a working line German Shepherd or a Labrador, understanding the breeds traits and fullfilling genetic and biological desires is key to a happy dog.

Both mental and physical stimulation are super important and this varies dog to dog. Instead of just walking your dog think about other fun activities that you may enjoy together.

  • Obedience
  • Scent work
  • Tracking
  • Agility
  • Dog Sports

There's a reason you see a Border Collie happiest herding sheep, Terriers chasing small things, Spaniels thriving at scent work and why German Shepherds are used in the police.

When a dogs needs/genetic desires aren't met this is usually when problems can start. Their environmental upbringing and life experiences play a massive part but so do their genetics.

It's why we always advise to research your breed, have a dog that fits your lifestyle and only use a reputable breeder that breeds for health and temperment, not aesthetics.

We can help you understand your dogs breed and behaviour, finding an activity that is suited to you both.

Following our training sessions and when suitable for your dog we can offer our group sessions. We focus on fun training that strengthens the relationship between dog and owner.
